Thapa is an excellent director, actor and filmmaker with efficient and dynamic personality. He was also the General Secretary of Film Director's Guild of Nepal, and executive member & Senior Vice Chairperson of Nepal Film Producer's Assocication and member of Film Artists Association of Nepal. He in his credits has numerous of feature films and television serials of his creation and role playing, released from national channels of Nepal to cinema theatres, which have stood excellent and very popular. He has directed and acted in numerous Nepali feature films.
Thapa has directed predominantly on more than 4 Nepali feature films in a wide variety of genres as well as TV dramas, documentaries and award-winning shorts films for more than 35 years. Some of his prominent feature films, which he has directed are- Sadak, Andolan, and Anjuli. Besides this, he has also acted in few Nepali feature films i.e. Bato Muni Ko Phul etc.
He is versatile and extremely committed towards his direction. He has reached to the level of success in short period of time, where very few could reach. he is considered one of the leading film directors in Nepal film industry.
Thapa has been contributing his directional skills for promoting, preserving and expanding Nepal film market as a pillar contributing his extraordinary directional skill in a professional way who has involved in lots of film organizations. Due to his popularity and contribution for film industry, he became the best director among Nepali directors and producers encouraging them for production investment in Nepal film market.
