Samir Kumar Shrestha, popularly known as Sameer Balami, is a prominent figure in Nepal's film journalism and film industry.

He started his journalism career in 2062 BS with Bimarsha Weekly and has since contributed to major Nepali media outlets, including Sourya Daily, Madhyanha Daily, Jansawal Daily, and Sapha Nepal Weekly. He has also held editorial roles at Filmyfanda.com and worked with Kasthamandap Television, ABC Television, and Janata Television.

Currently, Sameer serves as the Chairman of the Film Journalist Association of Nepal and is the General Secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ).

Sameer has also been actively involved in the film industry. His notable works include directing and writing the feature film 'The Famous' and serving as the casting director for the movie 'Jaya Sambhu'. He is a member of the Film Directors Guild of Nepal and the Nepal Film Producers Association.

Sameer's achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Film Journalist Prize at the Surya International Award (2018), the Youth Talent Award from Kakani Municipality and the Best Animation Film Award from the D Cine Award (2074).
